Today I Have a Sense of- How Much I Owe

"When I stand before the throne,
Dressed in beauty not my own,
When I see thee as thou art,
Love thee with un-sinning heart,
Then, Lord, shall I fully know,
Not till then, how much I owe."

Do we really understand how much we owe to Christ?

"If the whole realm of nature mine, that were a present far too small. Love so amazing, so divine. Demands my soul my life my all."

Life is Full of- Seeking and Searching

"You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart." -Jeremiah 29:13
"Seek the Lord and his strength, seek his presence continually."- Psalm 105:4
"One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple... You have said,  'Seek my face.' My heart says to you, 'Your face, Lord, do I seek.'"- Psalm 27

Our lives should be full of seeking and finding the Lord. Do we search and study His word with great intensity? Do we long with all of our hearts to know Him more?

He Knows Even the Little Details

I love contemplating God knowing everything about me... not only me but every sparrow, lady bug and spider. His sovereignty and control over all of it, brings peace and comfort like nothing else. Not a single thing can take place that has not been ordained by our Maker. He holds the strands of this spider web together and knows the number of strands in it. Our God is so AWESOME!

"Yes, I tell you, fear him! Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. Why even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows." - Luke 12:5-7

Today I have a Sense of- Extraordinary Mercy

"Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity,
who heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit,
who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
who satisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's...
The LORD is merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love...
He does not deal with us according to our sins,
nor repay us according to our iniquities...
As a father shows compassion to his children,
so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
For he knows our frame;
he remembers that we are dust." - Psalm 103

May we never forget our wretchedness and His extraordinary mercy towards us!
And as we stand in awe of His compassion may it put us on fire to share that extraordinary mercy with our dark and dying world.

Today's Lesson- "Beauty is Painful"

This flower reminds me of trials... It's lovely yet covered in thorns. Beauty comes with affliction, trials and lots of scrubbing!!! Our loving God is willing and will remove those stains and blemishes from us even though it costs us pain. YES! the beauty that you appreciate in others is often there because it has been accompanied by painful experiences.
"In times of affliction we commonly meet with the sweetest experiences of the love of God."
-John Bunyan
