Life is Full of- Communication

Communication is so important, not only with those around us, but most importantly with our Creator. He loves hearing his children's voices, turning to him for guidance and wisdom each and every day.

"What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In His arms He’ll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bear
May we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.
Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayer
Rapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there."

Death is not Dying

Today is the one year anniversary of my Grandaddy's homecoming. We miss him sorely but look with great expectation to reuniting with him one day in the presence of our Maker. Heaven seems so real now and I CAN'T WAIT to get to glory!!  Love you, Grandaddy!

"It is not death to die
To leave this weary road
And join the saints who dwell on high
Who've found their home with God
It is not death to close
The eyes long dimmed by tears
And wake in joy before Your throne
Delivered from our fears

O Jesus, conquering the grave
Your precious blood has power to save
Those who trust in You
Will in Your mercy find
That it is not death to die

It is not death to fling
Aside this earthly dust
And rise with strong and noble wing
To live among the just
It is not death to hear
The key unlock the door
That sets us free from mortal years
To praise You evermore

O Jesus, conquering the grave
Your precious blood has power to save
Those who trust in You
Will in Your mercy find
That it is not death to die"

Life is a Vapor... All Flesh is Like The Grass

Today I stop to remember... Yes, a year from today we were given the news that my Grandaddy only had about two weeks to live. Life is a vapor... we are here today and gone tomorrow. What we do today will make a difference in eternity. So I ask you, if you knew that you only had eleven days left to live, would you be living today differently? Are we wasting our lives? When we are dead and gone, what will people remember about us?

"All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades when the breath of the Lord blows on it; surely the people are grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever." - Isaiah 40:6b-8

" Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow." - Psalm 144:4

Today I have a sense of- Refreshment and Restoration

"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen and establish you." -1Peter 5:10

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul." Psalm 23:1,2
